Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about our service and about comparing mobile plans in the UK.

What is Kaqa Center?

Kaqa Center is an independent UK service that helps consumers understand and compare mobile phone plans, including SIM-only, pay monthly, upgrades, family, business and pay as you go options.

Are you a mobile network or part of one?

No. We are not a mobile network operator and we are not owned by, affiliated with or endorsed by any network or retailer. Brand names mentioned anywhere belong to their respective owners.

Can you help with my existing mobile account, bill or a technical fault?

No. We cannot access, manage or change existing mobile accounts, and we do not provide network customer service or technical support. Please contact your network provider directly for these issues.

Is your service free?

Yes, our comparison service is free to use. Calls to 0330 520 4172 cost the same as calls to a standard UK landline (01/02) number and are usually included in inclusive call minutes.

How do you make money?

We may receive a commission from a provider if you choose to take out a plan after using our service. This does not change the price you pay.

Do I have to buy anything?

No. There is no obligation at any stage. If you choose a plan, your contract is directly with the provider.

Will I need a credit check?

Most pay monthly and many SIM-only contracts involve a credit check carried out by the provider. Pay as you go plans do not.

Can I keep my number if I switch?

Yes. Text “PAC” to 65075 from your current phone to get a code that lets you keep your number when switching. Text “STAC” to 75075 if you want to switch without keeping your number. Your new provider should complete the switch within one working day.

What are mid-contract price rises?

Many providers increase prices once a year during a contract. UK rules now require providers to show any such rise in pounds and pence before you sign, so you know exactly what you will pay.
